What to expect while taking ZENBEXUS

During treatment with ZENBEXUS, side effects may occur. It’s important to be mindful, track any changes, and assess how you’re feeling. Always let your doctor know if you experience any side effects when taking ZENBEXUS.

  • Severe low white blood cell counts (neutropenia)
  • Infections
  • New cancers (secondary cancers)

*Serious side effects in ≥2% of people included in the study.

  • Decreased white blood cell counts (neutropenia)

  • Decreased white blood cells (leukopenia) and lymphocytes (lymphopenia)

  • Decreased platelets (thrombocytopenia) 

  • Decreased hemoglobin (anemia) 

  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Tiredness

  • Muscle and joint pain

  • Pneumonia

  • Diarrhea

  • Trouble controlling your body movements (motor dysfunction)
  • Rash

  • Sleep problems such as insomnia, restless leg syndrome

  • Abnormally low levels of antibodies (hypogammaglobulinemia)

  • COVID-19

  • Constipation

To help manage certain side effects, your doctor might prescribe things like:

Medicine that helps your body make more white blood cells, to help with neutropenia or leukopenia

Medicine that helps prevent blood clots

Antibiotics or medicine to fight infections

Birth control if there’s any chance you could become pregnant. You'll need to use it before, during, and after treatment with ZENBEXUS

ZENBEXUS can cause possible harm to your unborn baby

Females who are pregnant or plan to become pregnant must not take ZENBEXUS. ZENBEXUS has not been tested in pregnant females and has harmed unborn animals in animal testing.

Females who can become pregnant must:

  • Not become pregnant during treatment with ZENBEXUS and for at least 4 weeks after your last dose of ZENBEXUS
  • Obtain 2 negative pregnancy tests before starting ZENBEXUS, then weekly for 4 weeks, then every 4 weeks (if you have a regular menstrual cycle) or every 2 weeks (if you have an irregular menstrual cycle). You will need to have a pregnancy test and receive counseling if you miss a menstrual period or experience unusual bleeding
  • You must also use two acceptable, highly effective forms of birth control simultaneously during this entire time. Talk with your healthcare provider about acceptable options
  • Do not donate eggs during treatment and for 4 weeks after your last dose of ZENBEXUS
  • If you become pregnant, stop taking ZENBEXUS immediately and contact your healthcare provider or the REMS Call Center at 1-888-423-5436 if your healthcare provider is not available. All pregnancy cases should also be reported to FDA MedWatch at 1-800-FDA-1088. A pregnancy exposure registry is available—call the REMS Call Center to enroll

Males:

  • ZENBEXUS may pass into human semen. Use a latex or synthetic condom during any sexual contact during your treatment, and for at least 4 weeks after your last dose of ZENBEXUS, even if you had a successful vasectomy
  • Do not donate sperm during treatment with ZENBEXUS and for 4 weeks after your last dose of ZENBEXUS. Tell your healthcare provider right away if your female partner becomes pregnant

ZENBEXUS can cause life-threatening blood clots

ZENBEXUS can cause life-threatening blood clots in your legs (deep vein thrombosis), lungs (pulmonary embolism), and heart or brain that can cause heart attack or stroke (arterial thromboembolic events). Your healthcare provider may start you on medicine to help prevent blood clots. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you get any of the following signs and symptoms during treatment:

  • Swelling, pain or tenderness, red or discolored skin on your legs 
  • Chest pain that may spread to the arms, neck, jaw, back, or stomach 
  • Sudden shortness of breath, dizziness or lightheadedness 
  • Vomiting 
  • Feeling sweaty 
  • Sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body 
  • Severe headache or confusion 
  • Problems with vision, speech, or balance
